I feel like 2021 last an entire decade but always happened in a blink.
It’s no secret, the year started off rough for me. I struggled with stress, anxiety, and writer burn out. Once I finished Lorran, I wasn’t sure what to do next. My creative gas tank was on empty.
So I decided that I would say yes to whatever seemed interesting. The “blind date” theme holiday book was interesting. Yes, sign me up. A planet full of outlaws? I’m there. And then an interactive story game came calling, which is totally not my genre or medium, but it was too interesting to turn away.
Following what interested me and trying new stuff was a good way to shake off the blahs. I’m rather happy with the books I wrote, even though I wrote less this year.
On the bright side, Logan McAllister crushed it narrating the Warlord Brides series. We’ll have more coming in 2022.
As for me… I’m starting another really cool project today. The next Warlord Bride novella will be in the Claimed Among the Stars anthology in July. (Here’s a hint, we’ve already met the hero and heroine.) Then I plan for another visit to Outlaw Planet Mates, because I had too much fun there the first time.
I didn’t finish Tattle Tail in time for it to be published before New Year, but it’s coming real soon.
Checklist for a top secret mission:
- Pack your favorite knife
- Befriend your fellow badass
- Ensure that you have plenty of explosives
- What’s this about a stowaway?
Lorran has wanted nothing more than to find his mate for years. Now fate unexpectedly delivers a luscious human female in the midst of a dangerous mission. His warlord says he lacks focus and discipline. He’s never been more focused in his life but it’s hard to stay on task answering a distress call when ships keep exploding. Even more troubling, his mate refuses to believe that he wants everything with her.
He’ll win the female’s heart, save the day and the whole damn galaxy.
Wyn knows all about good-looking, charming guys.
Lorran is no different. Well, other than being a massive purple alien. He promises forever but the last man who promised her that got bored and left. She won’t risk it. The alien may possess her body, but he won’t claim her heart.
The red guy. Again.
Emry thought she was done with alien Romeos who made promises and then ditched you, but their paths continued to cross. What’s a girl to do when the same guy keeps turning up like a bad penny?Steal his ship
The wrong thing for the right reason.
Four years ago, Ren made the mistake of choosing duty above his mate, a fragile human female unsuited for his toxic planet. He sent her away and has searched for her ever since. Now fate has brought them back together. She might have stolen his ship and abandoned him, but he won’t let her get away a second time.
The chase is on.
Stop me if you’ve heard this story before. One minute Alice is camping, trying to connect with nature, then there’s a blinding white light. Gravity must have quit because Alice and her sleeping bag are floating off the ground.
Classic alien abduction.
She wakes up on an alien planet full of, you know, aliens. Outlaws. Rules are optional and people are property. So not cool. Then there’s a train robbery and she’s getting abducted. Again.
But this guy? He’s a giant lizard man, just a solid wall of muscle, scales, and bad attitude. He’s dangerous and he’s gone into a mating fever, which he says is her fault.
So what is she going to do about it?
Better question, what is tall, dark and grumpy going to do about it?
Two decades ago Faris was exiled to this prison planet. Only the strong survive here.
He’s too old for a mating fever, but his body has other ideas. The human female was not part of the plan, an ordinary smash and grab, but she’s his now and he does not share.
COMING SOON
Just a little lie… a fake fiancé fib.
Peaceable needs a man to get her parents off her tail and stop their matchmaking. Desperate, she blurts out a made-up, surprise engagement to the worst, most aggravating man in the galaxy: Joseph Moonquest.
Instant. Regret.
The problem is that Joseph is the most insufferable, arrogant and wildly attractive human male she’s ever met. Worse still, he takes news of their surprise engagement in stride.
He’ll play her games.
Joseph and the stunning alien woman have been circling each other for months. Peaceable is the least fun, most goody-two shoes person he knows. She’s so prim and proper, colder than the stars in deep space.
He might ask why she’s so desperate for a fake fiancé but he’ll enjoy tempting and teasing the uptight alien. She’s the one woman he’s never been able to charm. He’ll melt that icy exterior and make her come undone.
Her little lie? He’ll play along until she’s at his mercy and the fussy female is in his bed.
He’ll be the best fake fiancé in the cosmos.
